I’ve always wanted to revamp my room and make it more girly and warm (not just a room I sleep in). Revamping my room felt like it would cost an arm and a leg which I wasnt willing to pay. Over the years I’ve mastered the art of decorating and revamping my room on a budget. Here are a few ideas on how to give your room a make over without breaking the bank.
1. Buying a new duvet set can do wonders for a dull room. I love white duvet covers with embroidery on. For todays post I have chosen a Mr Price home Duvet cover. It nice and simple but can brighten up any room. When it comes to pricing it differs depending on the size of your bed. I have a double bed which will cost R379.99 (this includes 2 standard pillow cases and the duvet cover). Please have a couple of duvetĀ covers on stand by so you can change your bedding at least twice a month. It’s advisable to have a matching night frill, 2 continental pillowcases and a matching sheet.
2. DIY Fashion Illustration frames
I am a huge fan of fashion illustrations, my favourite illustrator happens to ne Haden William from the UK. I have collected so many of his illustrations but I felt that I needed to do more. I decided to frame my favourite illustrations and hang them up on my wall where my desk is. How I did it: I printed out my favourite illustration and simply put them in photo frames; this took about 30 minutes at most.
3. Making your own decorations
Adding your own personal touch to your room is always fun (can be messy) and rewarding. It gives you a feeling of accomplishment (at least that’s how I feel because I’m a DIY fundi) Here are some ideas for adding your own personal touch.
4. Paint you room in a different colour.
5. Add some colour with cushions
6. Cute storage ideas
I have some many things I need to tuck away; having cute storage compartments makes life so much easier and it makes your room look adorable. Here are some of my favourites at the moment.
I sincerely hope that this post helps you revamp your room and not break the bank in the process. Do let me know if you would like some more DIY ideas; I’d be happy to help. I hope you are having a fabulous Saturday cause I am!
